Dr. Muscato Transitions Unit

Eastern Niagara Hospital’s 12-bed acute inpatient psychiatric unit serves children and adolescents between 5 - 17 years of age with behavioral health disorders. 

 

These disorders include, but are not limited to:

      • Mood disorders
      • Anxiety disorders
      • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
      • Disruptive Behavior
      • Personality disorders
      • Schizophrenia
      • Psychosis
      • Suicide prevention

 

The ENH team consists of highly trained and experienced psychiatrists, nurses, specialists and therapists who provide care in a modern, safe and comfortable environment within the Hospital. All treatment programs are personalized to meet the individual needs of each child.

 

Safe and supportive care is provided for crisis stabilization to help children return home as soon as possible.

Each child has an individualized treatment plan which is developed based on the child’s and family’sgoals, which focuses on the emotional, psychological, medical, and social needs of the child.

 

The psychiatric medical care for patients in the unit is provided by Psychiatrists Seth Dewey, MD and Junaid Hashim, MD. 

 

Dr. Dewey served as a psychiatrist at the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center inpatient unit.  He is a graduate of the University at Buffalo (SUNY) School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and did his psychiatry residency at the University of California at San Diego.  He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

 

Dr. Hashim is a graduate of King Edward Medical College, University of Punjab in Pakistan. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
