Acute Care

When patients need to be admitted to the Hospital, ENH is ready with a team of physicians, an experienced nursing staff and a host of other professionals. Licensed for 134 beds at the Lockport site and 71 beds at the Newfane facility, the Hospital provides acute in-patient care in comfortable, well-maintained rooms.

The Newfane site is currently undergoing a $3 million three-phase construction project to renovate patient rooms at the facility. The first phase of the renovation has been completed.  It includes a 12 bed medical/surgical unit and an administrative building with office space and a conference/community education room.

Phase II is now underway and includes an upgraded cafeteria and an additional 13 beds for patient care.  The final phase will result in 15 private rooms.  The renovation encompasses complete renovation and modernization of the units with private bathroom and shower facilities for each patient room.

Intensive Care

Additionally, Eastern Niagara Hospital offers Intensive Care Units at both sites.  The 6-bed unit in Lockport and the 4-bed unit in Newfane contain a vast array of specialized critical care equipment and are staffed with highly trained professionals experienced in caring for the most seriously ill or injured patients.
