ENH & SEIU Reach Contract Settlement:
Eastern Niagara Hospital and SEIU 1199, which represents 157 nurses at the Hospital’s Lockport site, have announced they have reached a three year labor contract settlement. The agreement was ratified with a near unanimous vote on July 16, 2015. The Hospital is very appreciative of its nursing staff and their ongoing efforts to serve the community.
Congratulations to ENH for being recognized by Univera for performance measures!
(Buffalo News, February 24, 2015)
Univera pays 15 area hospitals for meeting performance levels
Fifteen Western New York hospitals shared $2.1 million in incentive payments from Univera Healthcare and its Rochester-based parent for meeting or exceeding performance measures in 2014, the insurers announced Tuesday.
The area hospitals were among 45 hospitals and health care facilities across upstate New York that received $26 million as part of the Hospital Performance Incentive Program, or HPIP, offered by Univera and Excellus. The insurers have paid out $197 million since the program started in 2004. HPIP evaluates the hospitals on about 250 quality measures, including clinical performance and patient safety, and hospitals in 2014 met 88 percent of the target quality levels.
Univera declined to break out individual payments to the 15 area institutions, which were: Kaleida Health’s four hospitals, Catholic Health System’s three hospitals, two Eastern Niagara Health System hospitals, Erie County Medical Center, Mount St. Mary Hospital in Lewiston, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, WCA Hospital in Jamestown and the Chautauqua Integrated Delivery System doctors’ group.
