ENH Welcomes Dr. Lukose!

 

Eastern Niagara Hospital is pleased to announce that Biju Mathew Lukose, MD has joined the Hospital’s Medical Staff.   He is a Board Certified General Surgeon with additional training in Minimally Invasive Surgery.  Dr. Lukose completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Connecticut.  He has additional training in the minimally invasive surgery fellowship program at the University of Texas, where he also served as a clinical instructor and he has been trained in wound care and hyperbaric treatment. Most recently, Dr. Lukose practiced surgery at Rome Memorial Hospital in Rome, New York.

 Dr. Lukose has been trained in wound care and hyperbaric treatment.  He also completed numerous research projects and authored publications related to his field. Additionally, he is ATLS, ACLS, PALS and Advanced Trauma Operative Management certified.  Dr. Lukose is available to perform general and laparoscopic surgical procedures at both Eastern Niagara Hospital sites. His office is located at 53 Elizabeth Drive in Lockport. For appointments, call 434-6094.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION ~

Eastern Niagara Hospital offers a variety of community education programs to assist individuals in their efforts to maintain healthy lifestyles. 

Upcoming community education programs include:

Smoking Cessation Classes 

Monthly Diabetes Management Classes

Diabetes Support Groups meet the last Wednesday of each month from 7:00 – 8:00 PM at the Lockport Site. 

Smoking Cessation Classes & Diabetes Management Classes are also offered individually on an ongoing basis.

SPEAKERS BUREAU ~
Eastern Niagara Health System also provides a Speakers Bureau at no cost for community organizations.  If you need a health professional to speak to your club or community group, please contact the ENHS Community Relations Department at 514-5505.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS ~

Volunteers are very active at ENH’s Newfane and Lockport Sites.  Meetings and special events are listed below:

  • The Eastern Niagara Hospital Auxiliary generally meets the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the administrative annex conference room.  Everyone is invited. Special activities are planned for each meeting. The Auxiliary holds various fundraisers throughout the year.
  • The Eastern Niagara Hospital Guild holds meetings open to the public the first Monday of each month (excluding July – September) at 1:00 PM in the Community Room of the Lockport Public Library. Refreshments are served. 


Each meeting features a guest speaker:

The Guild Hosts numerous fundraisers throughout the year.  Lobby Sales are also held in the Hospital’s lobbies throughout the year.
