A Message to Our Community

Growing up in Lockport, we both felt content knowing there was a hospital just a short drive away. Our goal today is to make sure that sense of security is passed down to future generations. As leaders, representing the Board of Directors and Administration of Eastern Niagara Hospital (ENH), we are committed to ensuring that a continuum of health care services with the highest levels of quality and patient satisfaction is maintained throughout our region.

This past year has brought many challenges to ENH, particularly with the COVID-19 pandemic. We are pleased to say the Hospital has persevered throughout, and in many instances it has excelled. Recently reaccredited by DNV-GL, the Hospital has met and exceeded quality and patient safety standards set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This is a considerable tribute to our physicians and staff.

Health care in our community is on a new and exciting path – one that is designed for the future. We are grateful that Catholic Health will be constructing a “Hospital of the Future” ~ the Lockport Memorial Campus of Mt. Saint Mary’s Hospital. Scheduled to open in 2023, this brand new facility will feature numerous state-of-the-art amenities.

While these plans are in process, ENH will continue to meet the community’s needs at its East Avenue Campus and Transit Road sites. We have reorganized and restructured our services to become even stronger. Our collaboration with Catholic Health further expands our capabilities. From the time patients enter the front door, they are met by our professional health care team. The board-certified physicians of UBMD Emergency Medicine in our ER, the dedicated Hospitalists who serve patients needing admission, the highly skilled surgeons at the Niagara Regional Surgery Center and our caring and dedicated staff across the organization are all committed to meeting the needs of you and your family.

ENH is moving forward and transitioning. We are pleased to assure you there is a bright future ahead for health care in our region, and much to appreciate at the present. Thank you for your continued support as we embrace the future and work together for a healthy community.
